Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Heat Treatment Operator to join our team. The Heat Treatment Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring heat treatment equipment to modify the physical properties of metal components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of heat treatment processes, safety protocols, and the ability to ensure the quality and integrity of treated materials. Key

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate heat treatment furnaces, ovens, and related equipment to perform heat treatment processes such as annealing, tempering, quenching, and brazing.

• Monitor and control heating and cooling cycles according to specified temperature and time parameters.

• Load and unload metal parts or components into heat treatment equipment, ensuring proper arrangement and spacing to facilitate uniform heating and cooling.

• Perform pre-heat treatment inspections and measurements, including hardness testing and visual inspections, to verify material condition and prepare for treatment.

• Interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine heat treatment requirements and parameters.

• Maintain accurate records of heat treatment cycles, including temperature charts, cycle times, and batch numbers.

• Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of heat treatment equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of heated materials.

• Collaborate with quality control inspectors, engineers, and production personnel to resolve issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Continuously monitor and evaluate heat treatment processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Mechanical diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in heat treatment operations is preferred.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar jobs.

• Proven experience as a heat treatment operator or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Knowledge of heat treatment principles, processes, and equipment, including furnaces, ovens, and temperature control systems.

• Familiarity with metalworking techniques, materials, particularly steel, and alloys.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Physical capability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment as needed.

• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
