Job Description

The Workshop Supervisor is hands-on and responsible for ensuring the workshop is safely managed and operated, and that all Pressure Control and Handling equipment are serviced as per applicable procedures, specifications and specified requirements, within the current safety rules.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Performing as a Team player, delegating tasks and being responsible for establishing work schedules.

o Maintaining products to the highest company standard.

o Servicing all Pressure Control and Handling equipment, performing pressure testing, and maintaining accurate records for reporting to customers.

o Collaborating with the Operations Supervisor to prepare and maintain all inspection history records of tools and products.

o Performing periodic checks, testing of all rental equipment as and when required, and maintaining records.

o Ensuring that tools and equipment are properly functioning and inspected.

o Ensuring all products, items and equipment conform to the related standards, legal and contractual requirements.

o Collaborating with the Operations Supervisor to plan and schedule preventive maintenance of equipment.

o Holding responsibility for the entire recordkeeping of workshop inventory and liaising with the Operations Supervisor when procurement is required.

o Recording the “pre” and “post” rental method statements, and supporting with pictures.

o Ensuring all products reach the customer in a fit for purpose condition.

o Ensuring and improving the safety, productivity and performance efficiency of the workshop.

o Performing daily, weekly, monthly and yearly planned preventive maintenance for forklifts, overhead crane, compressor(s) and other auxiliary equipment while recording these in line with the company’s IMS system.

o Performing additional duties as required, either on a permanent or temporary basis within area of responsibility, to fulfil the company’s needs.  

 

QUALITY AND SAFETY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Parker Wellbore operates an Integrated Management System (IMS) at all operational facilities to meet their business, legal and moral HSEQ obligations. All personnel are required to work in full compliance with the requirements set out in the Parker Wellbore Group IMS, this will include as a minimum.

o Ensuring that work is carried out in compliance with company Quality, Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

o Not undertaking any task for which authorization and/or training has not been given.

o Ensuring the highest standard of workmanship produced is in accordance with the company expectations and as per customer, regulatory standards and specification.

o Promoting good health, safety, and environmental practices throughout all company activities.

o Wearing the assigned Personal Protective Equipment required.

o Taking care to prevent harm to themselves, colleagues and others and the environment that may be caused by our acts or omissions.

o Keeping the work area neat, organized & free of trips and other hazards.

o Reporting hazards in plant, equipment and other workplace, or shortcomings in the existing controls, to a superior without delay.

o Supporting continual improvement of the integrated management system by expressing better and safer ways to perform tasks and improve policies and procedures.

o Participate in HSEQ training required to meet minimum identified for position undertaken

o Attending Toolbox Talks, HSEQ meetings and training as and when required

Qualifications

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education / Qualification:

o College diploma or equivalent level of qualification.

o Ability to drive a forklift up to and including 5 tons. Experience:

o Five years’ practical experience in the oil and gas industry. Technical Skills:

o Good knowledge of Pressure Control and Handling Equipment.

o Good knowledge of Operational and maintenance procedures including pressure testing.

o Awareness of API specification standards. Administrative Skills:

o Ability to delegate tasks and allocate work.

o Ability to performance manage direct reports; setting targets, monitoring performance, and deal effectively with performance issues.

o Good project management skills, including effective time management.

o Skilled in conflict resolution. o Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.
