Job Description
The Buyer II is responsible for collaborating with internal customers including Operations and Engineering, as well as the suppliers to ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing Contract pricing, delivery, quality and proper documentation needed for certification of equipment and services including the following:
Essential functions
- Obtains quotations, prepares and issues purchase orders for materials, supplies, equipment and services including special and unusual items.
- Reviews quotations for completeness and accuracy and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Performs diversified duties requiring considerable judgment and decision making to analyze requirements and proposals.
- Identifies new suppliers for evaluation and qualification, analyzes quotations and negotiates PO terms and conditions.
- Abides by Company policies, procedures and standards.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Ensure that personal behaviors and work practices are in line with Company safety standards.
- Responsible for safety of self and others in the vicinity to include, but not limited to, employees, vendors and guests.
- Provide visible leadership engagement, be aware of housekeeping and take additional safety precautions to ensure no one is put at risk.
- Do not take short cuts or unnecessary risks and actively work with others to ensure they take due care and do not put themselves or others at risk.
- Ensure all incidents are reported and appropriately investigated in accordance with Company procedure.

• Llevar a cabo el desarrollo de proveedores, buscando las mejores condiciones de calidad, servicio y costo.
• Revisar y asegurar que la documentación para creación de nuevos proveedores.
• Mantener actualizado el listado de proveedores aprobados.
• Realizar seguimiento y apoyo a las compras nacionales e internacionales.
• Asegurar que las órdenes de compra y servicio cumplan con los requisitos de calidad, acorde a los lineamientos corporativos y locales.
• Asegurar que los productos y servicios cumplan con lo requerido por las demás áreas del negocio.
• Efectuar devoluciones y reclamaciones a proveedores por medio de una NCR.
• Optimizar los recursos y evaluar las mejores opciones de compra y servicio.
• Coordinar el proceso logístico de importaciones y exportaciones.
• Velar por el pago oportuno de impuestos aduaneros incluidas las cuotas temporales.
• Coordinar y ejecutar el cronograma de auditoria a proveedores críticos.
• Seleccionar, evaluar y reevaluar a los proveedores.
• Generar y enviar los reportes a las diferentes áreas de la compañía.
• Asegurar el cumplimiento de los controles/lineamientos corporativos y locales aplicados a compras.
• Realizar la evaluación de proveedores y contratistas con el fin de verificar que cumplan con los requisitos de ley y los establecidos por la compañía.
• Realizar un MOC cada vez que se cambie un proveedor crítico.
• Vigilar y realizar seguimiento al Plan Estratégico de Seguridad Vial (PESV).
• Crear estrategias y medidas, para evitar y reducir los accidentes de tránsito según Plan Estratégico de Seguridad Vial (PESV).
• Asistir de forma periódica a las reuniones pactadas por el comité de Plan Estratégico de Seguridad Vial (PESV).
• Asumir el rol como representante en el comité de seguridad vial frente el componente Vehículos seguros.
• Cumplir con los objetivos establecidos para el departamento de compras, y divulgar los resultados por medio de las revisiones gerenciales.
• Soportar las auditorías internas, externas y de clientes relacionadas con el departamento de compras.
• Desarrollar la evaluación de desempeño del personal a cargo.
• Identificar las necesidades de capacitación del personal a cargo.
Qualifications
Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities
- Must possess a High School diploma and college degree is preferred.
- 5 years relevant work experience required.
- A NAPM or CPM certification is preferred.
- Must have strong knowledge of drilling equipment and inventory requirements.
- Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
- Must have good PC skills to include all MS Office products.
- ERP experience in Supply Chain software (i.e. Oracle) preferred.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and suppliers. Being multi-lingual is preferred.
- Must possess sound reasoning skills and have the ability to follow directions.
