Job Description
This position has dual reporting lines in a matrix organization. The solid reporting line is to the Eastern Hemisphere Senior Controller, and the dotted reporting line is General Manager. From the CFO's perspective, this role is responsible for all financial and accounting activities, including oversight of the general ledger, year-end audit preparation, and maintaining internal controls. This role will also require working closely with Operations to prepare regular budgets and forecasts as part of the corporate reporting responsibilities.
This individual will manage the financial close process while ensuring financial statements are properly recorded and presented timely and accurate. From the Operations perspective, this role is intended to be a trusted business partner with the GM, to among other things, focus on operating cost management, capital discipline, and tendering/business development support.
This role may require periodic presentations and exposure to the Company’s Audit Committee, Senior Management, and other functional heads in coordinating his or her role.
Essential Functions
- Manage and control general accounting activities including proper recording of accounting transactions, classifications, and reconciliation of account balances as per country and company-specific standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports and perform variance analysis including monthly forecasts. Direct and review Ad hoc/monthly/yearly reports required by management and auditor.
- Review key balance sheet reconciliations to support Operations in the preparation of analyses for use by senior management in the daily management of business.
- Proactively monitor and advise on aging receivable balances to minimize DSO.
- Perform periodic financial analysis to measure the performance of the business.
- Supports operations, on a required basis, developing and driving budget proposals, and development of analyses related to revenue-generating opportunities including tendering, contract bidding, and re-bidding.
- Assign duties and monitor the quality of work, ensuring that the department conforms to organizational policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and support the Company’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Supervise the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or International Business is required.
- Should have at least 15 years of work experience, preferably from within a similar industry, although this is not essential.
- CA certification or equivalent international certification is preferred.
- Must have strong knowledge of US GAAP, and other applicable international reporting guidance (i.e IFRS India)
- Should have experience in supervising others.
- Must have excellent PC skills to include all Microsoft Office products with extensive knowledge of accounting technical skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to present oneself professionally.
- Must be detailed, organized, and task-oriented to manage rapid growth and increasing demand for information and results.
- Must have strong analytical skills and be able to make complex decisions while keeping the departments and Company’s philosophies and goals in mind.
